NYFW Part 4: Sunday- NYFW Runway Day ✨
Show day was everything I had dreamed of, and more! First up, I did a live interview with Elle Magazine! AHHH, so surreal. Then I jumped right into an interview for Flying Solo’s live channel, and finished it up with a quick chat with Fashion Channel. It was all so fun and energizing, I wasn’t nervous at all!
Once the interviews were done, I headed backstage, and wow, Project Runway vibes all the way! I found my models, asked the staff all the important questions, and made a few more connections with industry folks.
The first show was with RosaByrd, and it was incredible. The models lined up, and the flying solo staff were giving instructions on the walk. The anticipation backstage was wild, but nothing prepared me for the moment I stepped onto that runway. I walked out and heard loud cheers—and in front of me was a long silver runway, with gold and silver ball decor, surrounded by press and spectators. It felt like a movie! I spotted my crew right away, and I could not stop smiling. That moment will stay with me forever.
Backstage, the staff was cheering for us, and everyone was so supportive. It felt like a true team effort, and it was one of the most incredible feelings I’ve ever had. After the first show, chaos hit as the models changed, and I had to quickly grab my jewelry and get ready for the next walk.
The second show was with Streets Ahead, and by then, I was in total runway mode. I wasn’t nervous at all, just having fun. After I finished walk 2, I grabbed my jewelry, put it in my bag, and lined up for my final walk.
Walking the runway for the final time was magical. As I walked down, I soaked in every moment, every step, and made sure to look at the press, the audience, and especially my support crew Jamie, Sydney, and Tayler. It was such a special feeling to know they were there!
Once I finished, I grabbed my stuff, gave the staff one last thank-you, and went out into the crowd. Seeing my family and friends after the show was the best feeling in the world. We also met some lovely influencers who came to see my jewelry and shared posts about it, so surreal.
As the show wrapped up, we walked to Shake Shack and then to Birdland Jazz Club for an unforgettable show by the Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble. The music was mind-blowing, and the atmosphere was perfect! Afterward, we ventured to Times Square at night, it was everything I imagined. We took the subway back, and it hit me that this day would go down as one of the best in my life.
